ARTHUR Carney and George Hoddle of Carneys Lawyers visited the offices of Walker Beer Solicitors & Conveyancers last week to meet with the firm's directors, Alice Weinthal and Stacey Thibault. The purpose of the meeting was to formalise the arrangement between Walker Beer and Carneys, allowing Carneys to offer Walker Beer support and resources in the areas of personal injury, commercial litigation and damages claims.
An area of law that both Walker Beer and Carneys feel is under serviced in the region is personal injuries. "Due to the changes in legislation, fewer firms specialise in personal injuries," George Hoddle said. "It was important for Carneys to become more familiar with Gunnedah and see what was happening in town and to see how Stacey and Alice operate," Arthur Carney, principal of Carneys, said.
"Alice and Stacey run a very impressive and efficient practice here, and the town and area as a whole seems to be going through a significant period of growth and change."
"Walker Beer has great balance. With two working mothers devoting their time between the office and home, we were blown away by the way in which they operate their practice."
"Gunnedah is fortunate to have Alice and Stacey as knowledgeable and devoted members of the community," continued Arthur.
It has been the perceived demand for the services of personal injury practitioners in the Gunnedah area that has prompted Walker Beer to employ Gunnedah local, Ingrid Allen.
"It is important for our clients to know that they have someone in Gunnedah working on their case," Stacey Thibault said.
"With the backing of a Sydney firm with accredited specialists in the area of personal injury law, and with Ingrid on the ground here in Gunnedah, we are now able to offer our clients an important and necessary service," she said.
Ingrid, who has a wealth of previous experience in the area of personal injury law, commented on her new role. "I love this area of law. I never tire of delivering a great result for injured people, and I like knowing that I have championed my clients' causes."
Ingrid will be joining Stacey and Alice and the rest of Walker/Beer family as of next week.
